Helping young people shape the future
Participatory Futures Lab empowers young people to become future-ready through participatory learning, systems thinking and collaborative imagination. Working with schools, libraries, municipalities and community organisations, we design learning experiences that help young people understand complex challenges, strengthen their sense of agency and co-create more sustainable, inclusive and resilient futures.
Onze programma's en workshops
We work at the intersection of future thinking, systems thinking, design thinking, participatory research, sustainability and community innovation. Through creative, collaborative and hands-on experiences, young people become researchers, designers, storytellers, problem solvers and future guides.
Toekomstverkenning voor scholen
Interactieve workshops die jongeren kennis laten maken met de principes van toekomstdenken en systeemdenken, gericht op het stimuleren van kritisch denken en creativiteit.
Innovatieve jeugdparticipatie
Ontwerp en faciliteer processen voor jeugdparticipatie die jonge stemmen versterken in beleidsvorming en gemeenschapsontwikkeling, met behulp van participatief onderzoek.
Duurzaamheid en maatschappelijke impact
Projecten gericht op het ontwikkelen van oplossingen voor duurzaamheidsuitdagingen, waarbij jongeren worden betrokken bij innovatieve en impactvolle initiatieven.
Partnerships voor toekomstgericht leren
Samenwerkingen met organisaties en instellingen om op maat gemaakte programma's te ontwikkelen die jonge mensen voorbereiden op een veranderende wereld.

Waarom wij bestaan
Young people today are growing up in a world shaped by rapid technological, ecological and social change. We believe they should not simply adapt to the future - they should help shape it. Through participatory learning experiences, we empower young people to explore possibilities, understand complexity and transform ideas into meaningful action.
Ons verhaal
Participatory Futures Lab was founded on a belief that young people should not just prepare for the future. They should help shape it.
Today's world is changing rapidly through artificial intelligence, climate change, and technological innovation, yet young people are rarely given opportunities to explore these changes or influence what comes next.
Participatory Futures Lab was created to change that.
We create creative, hands-on learning experiences where young people investigate real-world challenges, imagine future possibilities and develop their own ideas for positive change. By combining futures thinking, systems thinking, participatory research and design thinking, we equip young people with the confidence, creativity and agency to become active participants in shaping their own futures and the communities around them.
Because the future is not something that happens to young people.
It is something they can help create.
